Striking a Chord in Our Community
A 4th generation San Franciscan and a long-time resident of Lafayette, Tom Stack brings his wealth of Bay Area knowledge and passion for community work to Lamorinda and surrounding East Bay buyers and sellers.
A Rock N’ Roll Past
Tom spent over 20 years of his early career in sales, marketing and licensing of Rock and Roll merchandise. During that time, he ran his own business as a licensee of one of rock’s greatest bands, the Grateful Dead, as well as with rock legend Carlos Santana, creating and distributing merchandise to clients worldwide. He became well-known for his attention to detail, his integrity and his hands-on approach and “second to none” customer service. Because of this, Tom eventually worked directly for the Grateful Dead, managing and negotiating worldwide licensing operations, the band’s retail website and all of their merchandising endeavors.
Bringing Music to Lamorinda
Tom brings his love of music home to Lamorinda, having served as Vice-President of the Board of Directors at Lafayette's Town Hall Theatre from 2009 to July of 2020. As one of his responsibilities, Tom produced Town Hall’s Music Series which brings live music to the local community. During Tom’s tenure, he helped oversee the Theatre’s ascendancy as one of the East Bay’s premier entertainment venues, winning Diablo Magazine’s 2020 “Best of the East Bay” award for best venue for tribute bands. He is also an active member of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce. You can find him on stage introducing the musical talent at Lafayette’s Art and Wine Festival every year, and MC’ing the annual Lafayette Reservoir Run in October.
Bridging the Past and the Present
Bringing his experience in prospect hunting, marketing and selling with his merchandising and music experience, Tom applies this same work ethic to real estate, helping his clients get the best buying and selling experience possible. He excels in managing that process from staging, marketing, contracting and negotiation all the way through to closing. He works to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
At his core, Tom is a “relational” agent, rather than a “transactional” agent. Tom cultivates and nurtures his relationships with his clients, and he is there for him before and after the sale. Creating clients for life is his goal.
Tom’s outstanding track record and exceptional agent support ensures that his client’s needs are skillfully met. He is a trusted resource for local information and will help all of his clients successfully navigate the real estate process with confidence.
Tom is a 1975 alumnus of St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco and obtained a degree in Business Management from Santa Clara University in 1979. In 2009, Tom earned the prestigious EcoBroker Certification. He is educated and qualified about the choices that home and business owners have in purchasing, installing and managing eco-friendly technologies. Tom is a Charter Member of the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce’s Green Committee and is also an active member of the “Try Lafayette First” campaign which encourages residents to support local businesses.
Tom lives in Lafayette's Burton Valley neighborhood with his wife Kiki, son Sam and cock-a-poo, Jammer. The Stack family is very active in the local community. Tom's passion for coaching has been satiated by volunteering with Lafayette Little League, LMYA basketball and LMYA soccer, as well as serving as a basketball coach for many years in the local CYO programs. He and his family are known for presenting the annual "Halloween House" in Burton Valley, where the neighborhood converges on their home to bear witness to multiple actors/actresses, smoke and fire, screams and shrieks and general spooky mayhem. It is all about the community for Tom. Put him to work for you and enjoy the results.
